"When I discover who I am, I'll be free." - Ralph Ellison, "The Invisible Man" I had about 5 different, mainly unfinished college essays that 17-year-old me wrote in her attempt to best present herself to colleges. My final one (in my first post) was about my hometown of San Jose, Antique. Here is one of the unfinished drafts I wrote regarding my search for identity.
"I'm only 19 but my mind is older." In honor of my 19th birthday, I was originally going to write 19 Things I Learned Before I Turned 19, but then I realized that a large majority of my character has been defined by the books I have consumed. Without these characters, I would not quite be the person you see today.
